Company Registration in South Africa

A cipc company registration is R175 with a reserved company name. And it is R125 without a name, so its company registration number automatically becomes the company name. Then you can register a company with or without a company name. You can apply to add a reserved name at a later stage if you register without a name. And a company name reservation application is R50. So, you need to have one (1) to four (4) unique names for a Name Reservation Application. If your name reservation application is not approved, then you will need to apply for new names at another R50.

A company registration in South Africa is R125 for both private company (Pty) and non-profit company (NPC) registered without members. A private company must have at least one (1) director. And a non-profit company must have a minimum of three (3) directors. And it takes less than 20 minutes to register both a private and non-profit company.

So, a successful company registration automatically comes with a tax registration number. And it also come with a B-BBEE Affidavit on their company registration documents.  And you can also apply for UIF and COIDA registration if you have employees.

You can register your company directly at the cipc‘s website. And you must have a South African ID or passport document. And the BizPortal currently caters for South African ID holders only.
